The Application
The “Legacy of Light” Scholarship – A $5,000 Scholarship to honor first-generation trailblazers who have turned challenges into generational change.
Criteria:
Minimum 3.5 GPA
100+ verified community service hours
Demonstrated leadership in school clubs or community organizations
Personal essay: “How I plan to be a light for others through my career and service.”
Three letters of recommendation from a mentor or educator
Resume of achievements or activities
The “Rising Pathways” Scholarship- A $3,500 Scholarship to celebrate students building strong academic and service-based foundations.
Criteria:
Minimum 3.2 GPA
75+ verified community service hours
Involvement in at least two school clubs or extracurricular activities
Essay: “What my future career means to my family and community.”
Three letters of recommendation from a mentor or educator
Resume of achievements or activities
The “Service & Success” Award – A $2,500 Scholarship to honor students who blend academic drive with selfless contribution.
Criteria:
Minimum 3.0 GPA
50+ verified community service hours
Active participation in church, civic, Greek, or youth organizations
Essay: “Why service is the foundation of success.”
Three letters of recommendation from a mentor or educator
Resume of achievements or activities or portfolio, artwork, or media that reflects impact.
The “Bridges & Beyond” Scholarship – A $??? Scholarship for students who have overcome obstacles and plan to major in education, social work, or counseling.
Criteria:
Minimum 3.0 GPA
50+ verified community service hours
Active participation in church, civic, Greek, or youth organizations
Essay:
Three letters of recommendation from a mentor or educator
Resume of achievements or activities
The “Golden Torch” Scholarship – A $??? Scholarship for a student who demonstrates high potential, strong character, and quiet leadership—even if their GPA is just below traditional cutoffs.
Criteria:
Minimum 3.0 GPA
50+ verified community service hours
Active participation in church, civic, Greek, or youth organizations
Essay:
Three letters of recommendation from a mentor or educator
Resume of achievements or activities
The completed application package (including supporting documentation found on the checklist) must be submitted online or postmarked no later than Saturday, April 4, 2026. Applications and supporting documentation should be emailed to:

Qualified applicants will be contacted by the SCSF Scholarship Committee to schedule an interview. Interviews will be held during weekday evenings in April . The Sun Coast Scholarship Foundation will host an event to honor the book award and scholarship recipients. Recipients are asked to attend the event. Additional event information will follow.
